The hot weather is almost here and soon you’ll be squirming to peel off the sweatshirt or cardigan. So what kinds of accessories and items can you wear with your halter tops, skirts and shorts? It’s all about keeping the look polished and simple this season. It’s also about adding in splashes of bright colors here and there. Here are a few simple styles that will make you stand out among all the other halter-toppers and have you in the perfect mood to go out and take in the season.

With the intense heat waves sweeping all over Europe and the States people are actually encouraged to wear shorts to work. Sunglasses are a staple of summer. Of course, they protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful UV rays, but they also serve another purpose: looking great on your face. The bug-eyed sunglasses are a little out of date. You’ll be bold for not following the trends, but making your own. Other styles that are great right now, however, are retro frames. Remember those plastic sunglasses with the neon bands? They are cheap and add color and style to your outfit. Of course, keep them at home when you plan to go to work in your blazer and pencil skirt. It’s all about experimenting and trying on bolder styles and bright colors.summer accessories
No spring wardrobe would be complete without some decent headgear, so we’ll be taking a leaf out of Sienna’s book and investing in a floppy, 70s style hat to shield our eyes from the blazing sun (well, we can dream about the sun part!)
Organic accessories are the big trend in accessories this season, but you don’t need to be a granola-girl to pull off these great styles. Try mixing great pieces with items you already own for a quick update on your current look.
Another way to warm up your style is with an oversized canvas bag. As with everything this summer, the bigger and brighter, the better.
Canvas big bags have been around for years, but this year they’ve swung into must-have territory. Canvas is less expensive than leather and handles treatment well.
Sure big bags are still in, but nothing says “summer bag” more than a small little clutch. Going from a large fall bag to a small cute one is hard, I know, but it’s well worth it. Nobody wants to carry around a big bulky bag while taking a stroll on the beach.
